You genuinely would like to know, huh? Okay, well I'm taking you at your word. On the whole, what you have so far looks fantastic. I actually like the Neptune guy, moreso than the horse, actually, although now that you point it out I guess the head does look a little funny. But the rest of him looks great. My favorite bit is the very top right corner, with all the foliage and bits of houses. In the full canvas shot it's seriously almost photo-realism. The only bit that sticks out to me as looking funny is the cathedral/church thing next to the knocker... the tower on the right side, in the top right corner of the picture looks kinda crooked... I think there may be something wrong with some of those lines. It looks like it might topple on unwary pedestrians below. Dunno if you can fix that. ...But again, on the whole, the entire canvas looks great so far! I like the colors, and the details, and just the scenes you chose... they're great photos to begin with... yeah, I really like it, I hope you'll post pictures of the finish ( ... )

Thank you for the honest criticism. :) The top right corner with the trees etc. was one of the most fun parts to paint, so I'm glad you like it! (And thank you again! *blush*) You're right: the Cathedral tower is wonky (very wonky, actually). I noticed when I was painting it - well, to be honest, after I'd painted it. I think the major mistake happened when I was tracing the pencil lines - my reference photo must've slipped, and I didn't notice until I came to paint the thing. And, as (bad) luck would have it, I did the right hand tower first, without realising that it was really off, and belatedly realised my mistake after I'd done the other half of the Cathedral. >.>;; Thanks for pointing it out! I appreciate it. :) I'm going to attempt to fix it ASAP - not sure how successful I'll be, though. :S

It's really not hard to take good/pretty photos, here. Durham is the most picturesque and gorgeous city I've ever been to. :D ( ... )

Yeah, I dunno much about painting but it looks like it might be a bit of a difficult fix.

It looks/sounds like it must be fantastic! And just from what I've seen of small European towns, in my own experience... you guys are lucky to have a longer history to your towns and cities, so you get all that nifty old architecture... Gothic etc... I really enjoy that kind of aesthetic, and there's much less of that over here with our younger cities.

Thanks! :D

It's going well wordcount-wise. I've had to cut my plot in half again, though - and I'm not entirely sure if it works as a story in its own right, if I do that. :S Even if it does, it's really not the story I set out to tell. Ah, well! It'll be fine.
YAY, I'm glad yours is going well, too! *cheers you towards the finish line* :D

Thanks! :D (But it's really not.)

Uh. Maybe. I'm trying to get another bit of canvas finished (three more 'photos' to paint before bed!) so I don't know if I'll have chance. :S Sorry! *is crap at being actually around*
