B's memory is perfect, but B's memory is gone. Not altogether unexpected.

[He freezes, his eyes slowly traveling to the phone. He didn't THINK it was on... he crouches down to stare at it, to find that it only looked like it was hung up. He frowns, then picks up. Just kind of sighs into the phone for a moment, then says in a tired voice]

B wasn't talking to you.

[He looked down at his bare feet, rubbing them together. Part of him wanted to add a 'thank you' to the end of that sentence, but somehow his mouth hung open with no words.]

[He is startled by the noise, thinking his so-called wife had been at her job or something like that. He does indeed look over, just. Staring, and watching like a hawk. Luke's phone conversation was enough to clue him in to the fact that he'd been one of the murder victims. He wondered how long she had been in that closet.]

[His eyes darted over to the girl on his shoulder, then slowly returned to his teacup from whence he took a deep sip, considering her words but not even close to thinking that it was selfish of him to have her make it when she was obviously rattled. He gulped audibly as the warm liquid slid down - not full of sugar, the way he'd make it for himself, but he could tolerate it this way as well. In fact, it was rather refreshing.]

Those statements sound contradictory.
