[1950's tech doesn't give a person much of anything to use when trying to trace a call, but damned if Reeve isn't at least giving it the old college try.]

Who are you, is an even better question.

My apologies, I thought I had introduced myself. I am L.

'L' is a letter of the alphabet and is otherwise meaningless. I'm more concerned with this- are you human, and are you stuck here like the rest of us, or are you one of those running the place?

I am not connected to Mayfield in any way. It is merely a case that I am going to solve.

It would be dangerous for me to tell you anything else.

Kyahahah! Oh, we've got ourselves a logician in the house! All right, all right, Mr. L, why don't you answer us this?

Why do you think there's ONLY a 7% chance that something incredibly sinister is happening? Those are pretty low odds that, as a betting man, I wouldn't gamble on. Most of us are already absolutely sure that something sinister is going on... By absolutely, I mean to say, 100%. Or even in the 90's...

And why "William MacCready"? Where'd you even get that name?

If you're expecting to get some answers, Mr. L, let's hear yours first~ Yes, what is YOUR reasoning?

It seems that you have no idea who William MacCready is. I only promised to elaborate to people with this information, so please excuse me.

... Well, I'm not one to take kindly to rudeness...
"L", huh? Mr. Porky's got your number... Kyahahahah!

Yes, MacCready.

Does it ring any bells?

Kind of. It just sounds...really familiar.

I see. May I ask who I am speaking with?

And, were we to have such information, who precisely are you that we ought to give it to you?

[B thinks this voice is a little familiar, however, he does not miss a beat]

Pardon me, but I cannot release that information unless I can trust that you will be beneficial and loyal to the investigation. If you have the information and wish to keep it to yourself, then I will find it from another source.

The issue is that the situation you present is one that requires all trust on the side of the party giving information, yet none on yours.

Your reasons for choosing to disguise your identity are understandable, and yet there is no way to know that you are not simply working for the town and intending to root out those who have been conducting their own investigations for observation.

I see.

Your distrust is reasonable, but I will not compromise on this. There is too much at stake.

Do you know about William MacCready?

Tell me.

Look, if it's about the broadcast...I was there on New Year's Eve, and it was just a couple years ago. So...tell me how come it's not!

Excuse me, but if my theory is correct, then this information could potentially put those who know it in danger.

Therefore, I will only exchange this information for the answers I want. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
