The seven days I spent in Disney World went too fucking fast. I had to put on sunglasses while leaving the Magic Kingdom yesterday as I needed to hide my tears. So 6x6 is the Oscars of SLC's writing department. Six undergrad and six grad students each read for six minutes. It's an honor to be asked and you don't say no. But now, in two and a half hours I have to read *my* fiction in front of an audience. Not just reading something but something I wrote and love and carefully edited for length and clarity. It turns out that staving off a hang over at five in the morning with two glasses of water and a couple of Advil only works if you don't wake up drunk at eight AM needing to go to class.But, hey, what would Obama do? He would man up and go to class. So, in the spirit of the US Pres.-Elect, I bro-ed up and I showed up.

The bulk of it was pretty good, the party at Kara's was great. Stu, Kara's boyfriend, and I ended up on the balcony, smoking talking.
