Damn. Didn't I name a fic "Autumn Leaves" already? So much for my double entendre. :P I still have an unfinished fill at
pokanon to poke at, but when I saw someone had prompted Sacredshipping, I had an idea and couldn't resist. ;; Whether OP was "passively complaining" or not, all that matters is I'm doing this for me~ ♥ I'm surprised how well this came out in spite my trying to be acquainted with B/W and feeling like I needed to refresh myself regarding G/S/C and HG/SS. Guess my love for those two crazy boys is still there. ;;
Edit: Changed the title because it was bugging me with its unoriginality. And the color of Bitty!Morty's scarf. Small difference, but hey.

And when I promised my hand
He promised me back snow cherries from France
All that summer we traveled the world
Never leaving his own back garden
Girls, I didn't know
Just what it could be
Oh, but he let me go sailing...

Since he knew him from when they were boys, Morty knew that Eusine was a dreamer. The spark in his eyes suggested that he yearned for the romantic life in the old sense of the word: Travel! Adventure! Foreign locales! I didn't seem Eusine had came from Celadon City at all, but from a mysterious castle in the north where he was a prince. It was as if a European kingdom and a humble Eastern town had held hands through the friendship of two children.
Eusine invited him on those travels, and while Morty couldn't abandon his training to be a Gym Leader or his other duties to Ecruteak, they had sailed the seas of autumn leaves and became heroes in their own lives.
"Bet you can't do this!" snickered Eusine. He called his Voltorb from his Pokéball and commanded him to spin the leaves into a tornado. Round and round went red and white, along with orange and gold and cinnamon. Eusine crossed his arms, proud of the display they crafted for his friend, when a purple ball of gas materialized and stuck its tongue at them. ("BLEEEEGH!") Startled, Eusine and Voltorb fell backward, and the storm heaped upon them. Morty hid his smile beneath the gray scarf he possessed at the time, poorly containing his laughter as his friend sat on the ground baffled with leaves sticking in his hair. It didn't take long for Eusine to join him in his merriment.
Morty looked forward to their summers and autumns together. Those were the days he looked fondly on whenever Eusine was gone, filling him with a glow like a homemade Cheri pie that his grandmother used to bake them both. A voracious eater, Eusine had refused to give up any of his morsels for Morty, but he was more than happy to share places and Pokemon he had seen so far, because nothing excited a ten-year-old quite like the first steps of his journey.
"And--and there was this Sentret and Rattata," Eusine munched between words, wiping the corners of his mouth with his napkin. "They were playing and chasing each other. You won't believe what I saw! That Sentret... it's like this pie right here! It was amazing! It was pale and pink and it glittered and I had never seen anything like it before! I wanted to catch it, but it got away..." He picked himself up and grinned at Morty. "I'll prove it. Next time I go into the tall grass, I'm gonna find that Sentret! I'm gonna catch it and give it to you."
Somehow, Morty had a feeling what he got himself into. Smitten by his best friend, he was setting himself up for disappointment. Not only was there a possible chance of destroying their childhood friendship, Eusine existed as an eternal roamer. Their relationship would be anything but stable. He'd demand him to stay, but it would be trapping him in the same way if his friend had told him to abandon his position as a Gym Leader. Of course, there was the Legendary Pokémon themselves, and Morty cringed when he thought of how much Ho-oh and Suicune had simultaneously ripped them apart and brought them closer.
Yet the years went by, and it didn't stop him from waiting for Eusine to come back. Yet the years went by, and it didn't stop Eusine from smiling at him, promising his return. Neither did it stop the onslaught of kisses under falling autumn leaves at their reunion.
