This really shouldn't matter, Jax.

Welp, AEM got bumped to the next page on SPPf, and it only got sixty views and zero reviews in the process. (By comparison, a mediocre journey fic by a pretentious author who whined about not getting reviews at the beginning has gotten five reviews, and an equally mediocre sci-fi fic based on the exact same thing AEM was based on got three reviews ( Read more... )

Getting reviewers (whether SPPf or any other site for that matter) is a weird business. The first few chapters you'll get quite a few, then later on those reviewers might not be able to catch up. There is also always reviewers who came in the fandom scene late and will only follow new stories so that they can keep up with it, even if it's medicore. I know I get frustrated for not getting reviews on my stories and wonder why I'm doing this, but it happens and I learn to accept it.

And I STILL plan to read more of AEM, just been held up lately with several things and ack I also need to read Marcin's latest chapter of his story! D:

What really ticks me off is aforementioned whiny pretentious journeyfic author, though. He's the one who writes massive amounts of material, didn't get reviews for the first several chapters, and still managed to cultivate a decent fan-following. Then there's Cutlerine, who I like but did the same thing, basically. So... I'm really, really wondering what's up with these fics because I know there's quite a few who didn't get that many reviews at first but suddenly have fan followings now.

And it's okay. I'm really just pissed off at so many other people right now.

I have read the chapter, I just never got around to laying down a review, although I notice that on your chapters, the reviews tend to trickle in slowly up until you post the next one. It's weird. Anyway, 'pologies for my tardiness ( ... )

Actually I kninda noticed sppf's fic section was suddenly slow the last few days. Yesterday there were no posts at all for near half a day at one point.

But yeah, fic reviews are weird. Some days you get nothing, then a swarm, then nothing again. Closet readers sometimes suck though - we know they're there but they don't say a darn thing! >_<

Well, I'm one of those (one review for the prologue eff yeah!), and I'd like to know as well. @_@

Actually would turkey day have to do with that... slowness...? (BTW Chicken is cool and all but I'll take that spare turkey if you're not having it =p).

Anyways you have another review because it seems a fitting time for me to use this is a reason to procastinate on the calculator. Also to start getting back into somewhat-more-consistent reviews after finishing uni for the year.

But it's too darn good a story to stop sharing with others imho (seriously), so... as hard as it is don't get too down about a lack of reviews at times - closet reader problem is hard as heck to solve and you certainly have those (in actual fact I before and after reading this thought your story was one of the more popular ones on sppf, tbh) and there'll always be those insanely popular ones who probably don't deserve it on any forum like me because society as a whole is, well, stupid. A quote I know is 'I never realised how many idiots there are in the world before I saw the internet ( ... )
