In related news, I don't think there's a single dry pair of shoes in this entire house. Charlie was wearing a size larger than he should have been today just because they were the only ones not sopping wet, and the poor kid was stumbling around for at least an hour until he got used to them. (Not that anyone else noticed; he basically looked ( Read more... )

Oh, I think I'd forgotten all about your saga. So five months on... how do you like the Mac? Has the learning curve been worth it so far? Would you make the same choice again?

Most of the people I've talked to who have made the switch LOVE their Macs, but these are all folks who made the switch years before. (And only one person said she switched BACK to PCs after having had years with a Mac.)

I love my Macbook Air. It has held up far better than my PCs ever have. Get Malwarebytes for it.

Oh, I forgot you made the switch! What'd you think of the learning curve?

(And how do you like the word processing program with it?)

The learning curve wasn't too bad. I bought at an Apple store, so there were free classes. They have their own word processing, but it works fine for me. This computer doesn't seem to get glitches as fast as a PC does.

Yeah, I tried Open Office for Windows a few years ago, and HAAAAAATED it. Ugh. I use Google Docs a bit now for editing with my betas, and I'm really growing to like it. It's fun to chat with other betas in the comments.

I do remember hearing that Macs are better for creative stuff - but I've always inferred that to be (a) more about photography and graphic design than creative writing and (b) corporate marketing strategy. :)

His hair totally defies gravity. :)

I have tried soy cheese. It is... well, it is. That's all I'm going to say about it. I will say that Charlie had some more at Costco this morning, and OMG he practically inhaled it, so I hope for his sake he was cranky that other day because he was just cranky. At any rate, he's napping, so we'll see what happens when he wakes up.

But if I can feed him mac & cheese.... omg, even if I have to make it with soy milk to lower the lactose content, life will be GOOD.
