1. A friend gave us a $50 gift certificate for Amazon.com for Charlie, and I have no idea what to spend it on.  No, seriously, we have enough clothes, a good amount of blankets, plenty of feeding things, seats, etc, and I have no idea what's new and awesome in baby toys these days.  And I don't want to spend it on diapers, because at some point I'm ( Read more... )

That's true for most things - the licensing/2-year embargo - but Orange, like the US House of Cards, is made by Netflix as part of their original programming. So the only thing I can think of is that maybe S2 hasn't completed production yet. Which is surprising, since I think it was more popular than HoC.

This, yep. It's made by Netflix, so it has to be made. :) Still takes time for it to be filmed, edited, all that. Once it's ready, we'll get the whole season available all at once (woot!).

I'm a fairly large-busted woman too - 40D usually - and about a year ago I found the most comfortable bras ever. The Jockey contour bras fit well, and I can wear them all day without feeling pinched or getting sore shoulders. Take a look here. Also, outlet stores and coupons, if you can get them - I've never paid full price yet :)

I admit I haven't tried Jockey, but I'm a 34F, or G, depending on the bra. Most stores - even actual lingerie stores like Victoria's Secret and Maidenform - don't even carry that size cup, and any salesperson who tells you that you can just increase the band size to make up for it is lying to you - sure, the bra will go around your chest, but it won't do a damn thing to support your breasts - and in fact, it'll probably hurt like the dickens, especially if you're wearing underwires, because they'll be pressing into the soft tissue (when in fact they're meant to be just under the center of your armpit, up against your ribcage).

That includes department stores - they're just as bad, if not worse, than the typical mall lingerie stores.

But I've had really good luck with independently owned lingerie shops. The bras are way more expensive - but they last at least three times as long as any bra I've ever bought at VS, and they fit so. much. better, it's not even really a comparison. The one I'm wearing now that I bought last week ( ... )

I sympathise on the challenges with finding the right size! In the UK, I found it very hard to get bras in my size. And I'm certainly familiar with all the problems of badly-fitting bras that you mention. Before I tried the Jockey bras, I couldn't wait to get my bra off as soon as I got home from work, and I also had to pull up straps several times a day.

Jockey does it differently. If you go into a shop and ask, you'll be given their measuring kit, which consists of cups in different sizes. Try them on until you find one that fits your breasts comfortably. If you're certain about your band size, then you need do no more; however, they will measure you if you want. Then, as with any other bra, your size is your band plus your cup - I'm a 6-40 in their sizes. I was also able to try on the bras in-store, as you'd expect. Jockey does have a very good return policy, too, though of course check that out before buying.

I bought dreamcatcher/ cot mobiles for the last two friends who had babies and they liked them. Maybe Amazon sells something like that or a nursery lamp or clock?

Have 'em all. I can think of half a dozen things I'd like to buy for me, or Andrew, or Bill, but Charlie is too little to register an opinion. Though I suspect he'd like more milk.

Isn't season 2 out yet? It seems to be, here. I watched the first series and loved it but then dropped Netflix and never got around to finding a non-Netflix way to see the second. I can understand the unease, though!

Yeah, it seems like it - but I can't get it from Amazon, Amazon instant video, or even Netflix discs. (We have Netflix, but we get the discs, not the streaming. Because we are old and silly. And also our TV's wifi is sketchy sometimes.)

My mom has Netflix streaming at home, though - when she goes home, she's going to see if she can see Season 2 that way. (And I can wait a month for the discs to be released.)
