Plethora of Reactions: Wicked, True Blood (last week's), and Torchwood

Earlier this evening, I looked out the dining room window to see Andrew pushing his toy garbage truck across the parking lot. A few minutes later, I hear Bill's shout: "ANDREW!", followed by Daddy running from the front door, where he'd obviously expected Andrew to follow, to chase him down the street ( Read more... )

WAHOO! You've seen Wicked! Did you like it? It's one of my all time favourite musicals. I've seen it twice on stage (once in San Francisco, and once here in London) and I've listened to the soundtrack eleventygazillion times.

*I'm very proud of myself, I managed to read and respond to this portion of your post without spoiling myself for Torchwood! :)

It was okay - I don't think it's one of my favorites of all time, but it wasn't the worst thing by a longshot. I did check the book out of the library on Friday, though, because it's been forever since I read it, and I'm fairly certain the musical left out some key plot points.

The Torchwood spoilers aren't so much spoilers than a commentary on one specific (American) actor and a possible reason for the miracle, which didn't get a lot of screen time but might later on. When does it show in the UK?

I adore the Wicked musical and a huge part of that is the music. Oh it's definitely different than the book although, to be honest, I like the story in the musical better than in the book. They simplified parts of it and the ending is much better IMO. Where did you see it btw?

Ahh okay, I'll have take a look at the TW stuff later then. It airs on Thursday here although I have the means to watch it sooner I just haven't had the time yet.

Kennedy Center - apparently the woman playing Elphaba has played the role more times than any other person. She was excellent. The woman playing Galinda, though - it was like watching someone playing Kristen Chenoweth playing Galinda, so it sort of lost authenticity for us.
