Really lovely. The descriptions are so vivid, the place in all its strangeness laid out before us.

It's hard to put into words just what he has found here, what he has gone through, only that the world is new again to him, his existence somehow put into perspective, and some kind of peace come to him. That's what I took away from it, because I think that's what I'd feel, too.

I really love this story.

Thank you! You have it exactly right - he found a bit of the peace he's looking for. Not that he's completely healed, or really ever will be - but he's better. And he's ready to really step into a life with Rose.

I'm glad you love the story, and gladder still that you told me. :)

Aw, some nice fluffies at the end. *sighs* Loved the photo. Is that a real place you've been or just a random pretty shot?

Had to have fluffies. I was getting tired of the angst by this point. :)

The photo is a real place, and not only that, it's at the top of a mountain outside Bishkek, exactly where I put 10.5 and Rose. I got to the top the same way they did - by going up at a 70 degree angle on a snowmobile, absolutely convinced I was going to fall and die. It was fantastic.

(I did not, however, sled down, much to my regret.)

But when I sent them traveling, I knew this was where I would send them, and this is what he would do, in order to spark a bit of life into him again. This is the turning point for him, and I'm glad you liked it. :)
