Yes, its that time of the year, Container Store is offering their Elfa storage at 25% off. From the research I've done and discussions with people who have this, its the best, most reasonably priced system on the market and you can go into the store to discuss the parts and pieces to make a whole package.

They also will be having a sale in January ( Read more... )

Yes. I have them in my sewing room to hold fabric and stuff (I like the fact that it is ventilated so the fabric can breathe, as well as be slightly visible before I even open the drawer so there is less hunting for stuff. I also have them in the closet int he twin's room where it has replaced their dresser (to give them more floor room in the bedroom itself). Again, easy for the kids to use and see what is where.

I find them relatively easy to put together, although sometimes things are not exactly square (but I have found that with almost every mass-produced type of storage/shelving system). But well worth the time and money. Easily expandable if you need to, as well as modify if you need different drawer configurations.

We have Elfa closet systems in our Master Bedroom closet, the garb closet (since the pre-Assessment former closet collapse), as well as the back of door baskets in the pantry and linen closets. The back of door baskets can be a little rattly, but don't bother me at all. And I love the closet systems. Yes, they are more expensive than the cheap closet-maid stuff, but they are so much better. Love them. Wish I had justification and time to re-do the guest room closet, the sewing room fabric storage, and the hall closet.

I'm a *huge* fan of Elfa: both places I've owned, I redid all of the closets ASAP (read: when they had one of their sales).

At my current place, for example, the pantry/utility/laundry room is functional entirely due to elfa: I've reconfigured the shelves a few times over the last seven years, depending on how I was using the space and/or how my kitchen rehab was progressing. I *love* the fact that I can take shelves back to be cut shorter (which I did with two from the pantry, to use in one of the bedrooms); also merged several freestanding drawer units (two from years prior, when I was renting and didn't want to install elfa) to make a tall many-drawered unit to store bulk spices, cleaning supplies, lightbulbs, etc. Even had them trim down a dish rack thingie to create a space where I store cookie sheets and such.

So yeah: big fan of elfa, big geek on the configuration noodling :-) Happy to chat with you (Chalice?) if you have any queries about different accessories and features. :-)

G'luck!
