That's a nice haul. I didn't send you a card because you smell I don't have your address!

I didn't send you a card because the court order forbids it :(

Me too! Although I still haven't seen the film!

Mmmm, icons.

Someone bought me years worth of LJ paid time and it came with '100 user pics' thrown in for free. Now all I have to do is find some suitable imagery.

*looks at pants*

Hmmm...

That's exactly what happens. The older you get, the less there is to open. Although that wasn't true today. My father out-did himself by bringing two enormous sacks of gifts back from the Philippines.

What was strange was the fact that he bought some pretty decent stuff. DVD boxed-sets, toys and, of course, The Corpse Bride. Which he said he picked because 'it looks like the stuff you draw'.

And, yes. Those Sunshine Buddies have been looking at me a bit funny today. The continual nodding starts to get a little unnerving after a while...

I can imagine that being like a scene from one of those soft and slushy Christmas films where at the end, everyone's heart melts and it ends up being a glorious, perfect family Christmas :)

My Dad's gift buying policy is 'to buy something that that person would not necessarily buy themselves', this means he never buys things that people ask for because its too predictable. Alas, every year he asks me to write the things down that I want and every year I fall for it. Next year I'm going to write down the things I don't want and hopefully he'll fall for it.

I ended up buying him Enya (amongst other things) that'll teach him.

But boo to you and your box sets... the only one I received was from my friend Hannah and that was the scary movie trilogy lol.

It was one of the better Christmases we've had in a while. Although it's been a while since we were all together for the holidays so I guess we were all making a special effort.

I never know what to buy for my dad. Whatever I get him it he always seems nonplussed. Over the years I've bought him DVDs, CDs, Books, Artwork, Food, Wine... yet he never seemed happy. Funnily enough, last night he mentioned that he's always wanted a tortoise. Hmmm...

I'm not 100% sure of the quality of these boxed-sets. They don't look like the official versions to me :P

I'm so envious. '4400', my father never gets me things I like for Christmas. The closest he came was when I was four, he helped me bust open this six-foot box. Inside was an Atari, games, remote-control cars-- all things my father enjoyed, and while he was occupied with my toys, I entertained myself with razors (I lost both eyebrows that day), decorating the tree with shaving creme, and breaking into the spray paint and leaving my handprints all over the side of our house.
Best Christmas Eva!

Imagine my surprise when I opened that one up! I've wanted to watch it for ages. My dad bought it for me for Christmas. Those two things just didn't seem to rest well in my brain. It's almost like he he put some thought into what he was buying! *gasp*

You lost both eyebrows! Ouch!

okay, what are those happy face little heads with the daisies? Why must you make me want things I never knew I needed?! Happy Christmas :D

Merry Christmas! Those are Sunshine Buddies! As the name suggests they come to life in the light. They nod their little heads back and forth with that vacant smile on their faces... it's a scene of endless serenity.

AHHH! It says "These buddies are constant friends and ask nothing of you except companionship and a smile" these are way better than a rusty pair of gardening scissors on wheels. I fear you have introduced me into needing far too many of these. SO CUTE.

Is your daddy actually home for Christmas? And is that a power tool I see? Are you going to be using it to drill into people's brains?

I'm very glad you had lots of things to open. I felt bad when you said you weren't going to have anything to open. I knew you were going to get presents from me anyways! But it looks like you got quite a stash! :)

And I love my present from you! I didn't expect one at all but it was great. It was a lovely read. I really want a rat that talks and tap dances now though. Sadly, I don't think they make them.

Yup, he's here. Although he passes out at 6pm and wakes up at 4am so we don't really see much of him. We just hear him banging about at stupid times in the morning.

I was really surprised by all of the gifts. It certainly was a horde of random stuff. Power tools, gadgets, books! It's great :D

I'm glad you liked it. I thought you might, but you never can tell. As for a talking rat, I'm pretty sure that with all my new equipment I could knock you one up!
