...I'm back.

I think.

Sort of.

After the generalised radio silence of the last few weeks, then had an incredibly stressful and busy couple of weeks at work, followed by being completely felled by a cough/cold bug (yes, you're right, these two things almost certainly are related, how did you guess?) so that I was forced to take to bed and was too ( Read more... )

It's good to see you back - I do miss you when you aren't around.

But bleurgh for the cough/cold bug - I thoroughly recommend rum and honey - although actually M&S gingerbread spiced Baileys clone really should be therapeutic, I feel....

I think, too, that there is a lot to be said for having an official birthday - especially if you were to get two cakes!

Awww, thanks! That makes me feel better!

Hot lemon & honey with whisky, personally. (Though for several years I worked my way through a large bottle of coconut rum I'd brought back from a trip to the Bahamas. Revoltingly sweet to drink on its own, but ideal for a) cakes and b) in hot chocolate when poorly...)

No cake last Saturday, though I did get a huge beautiful bouquet of roses and lilies from my parents and siblings. The Small People and the RG are on the case for cake this coming Sunday, which is the Big 4-0 proper!

Welcome back, happy birthday, and best wishes for a swift convalescence!

Thanks, on all 3 counts! (Convalescence is a notion which needs bringing back into fashion, I think. Very easy in the modern world to feel one must be either Ill or Better with nothing in between...)

Don't worry, they're not really belated, as the real birthday's next Sunday! And yes, I hope for a positive year to come too - this one's had its ups and downs...
