I was thinking about trying it. Good idea or bad idea?

To butt in, I found it to be a good in theory, bad in execution sort of thing. The show doesn't balance the two major plotlines well and they end up on almost totally parallel tracks. It felt like Abi Morgan had an idea for a show about the birth of tv news and a Cold War conspiracy adventure and decided to combine them at the last minute. And as I mentioned below, the show should have taken a page from the Mad Men book and acknowledged that Ben Whishaw's character is a horrible person but good at his job.

I appreciate it! That's a good thing to know. I'm mostly interested because of WIshaw because, yes, I am that shallow.

I suspect you are hardly alone in that regard ;)

I watched the first season but I was so disgusted by the constant "You're such a GOOD FRIEND, Freddie" fawning (no he isn't, Bel! He is the worst friend!) that I decided against watching the new season.

Thanks for butting in! :) I've only seen last year's finale and this year's premiere, and interestingly enough, the dynamic between Bel and Freddie was part of what caught my attention while I was flipping channels. I can understand how frustrated you must have been, because although I only saw two eps, I got the vibe the show certainly thinks Freddie's a hero ;) It's too bad there's such a disconnect. I may keep watching but I'll be on my guard now.

Why does he call her Moneypenny, by the by?
