He was 86 and worked with the Orioles for over half a century. He never missed a game for 48 straight years (and when he finally broke the streak, it was to attend Cal Ripken's induction into the HoF at Cal's invitation).

He was definitely a special piece of Orioles' history. I was glad that Peter Angelos (the Orioles' owner) and Cal both went to his funeral - although I would have thought the whole team could have taken the morning off from ST to appear.
