Stopped by the library this morning to pick up The Children of Men, right? Turns out there's ONE copy in the entire Baltimore County Public Library system. And it's in Towson. So they're sending it over to my branch, which means it's just me and the The Unconsoled for a few more days.

I'm wondering about Brandon too. They didn't show too many clips of what was going on in their game- it was mostly cut aways to the A's/Tigers game.

I'm no expert on the Astros, but I'd guess not having the Morgan Ensberg of last season, and with Jason Lane batting like .200 before he was sent down that offense took a significant hit. They can't depend only on Lance Berkman and whatever Aubrey can provide.
was happy for John Maine...he hasn't had the greatest season. We saw flashes of how good he could be last year, but a four hit shutout? That's pretty awesome.
We thought he was getting a bit lucky because he was leaving a few balls high and too much over the plate, but he did make pitches when he needed to. And a CG shutout at the major league level is a huge accomplishment, no matter who the opponent is.
but they're making me feel really bad for Alex Rodriguez, and I would appreciate it if they stopped doing that.
I am sorry for him too. And I'd rather dispense with that feeling :-P

Agreed! And beyond that, just 98 pitches? I believe you when you say he had his share of luck on his side too.

**laughs** Makes you feel a little dirty, doesn't it?
