Summary: The person you love the most died in front of you, will you be able to forgive yourself for not being able to save him? Will you be able to let of the past even if someone came to help you move on?
It's been four days since I came out of the hospital, Aya's still taking really good care of me and I'm happy about it. I feel like I wanna be stabbed again, haha! Since it's Summer, I decided to look for a part-time job to afford the ticket for the concert but I really had a hard-time looking for one since I'm only 17 years old. When lunch time came I decided to go home and eat lunch. Mrs. Hideki noticed my tiredness and approached me while I was eating lunch by the table.
"Yuri, something's bothering you?" she asked and sat to the chair next to mine.
I looked down, it's hard to tell lies on someone like her, "Well... uhmmm..."
She smiled, "Is it a secret?"
I chuckled and looked at her, "Kind of,"
"Can you tell it to me? I'm curious, I promise to keep it,"
I sighed, "Ok, please please please, don't tell anyone about this especially Aya,"
She smiled at me and said, "Ok, promise I won't tell anyone,"
I looked down, "Well... you see.. I want to bring Aya on a date and... I want to make it extra special by bringing her to KAT-TUN's concert two months from now, I wanna look for a job so I can make up enough money for it but no one won't accept me cause I'm just 17,"
"Hmm... is that so? Maybe I can help you there," she took her cellphone out and called someone, "yes, it's me, yes yes, I have someone here that needs a part-time job, can you please give it to him? Ok thanks, ciao,"
Then she put her phone down and started writing something on a piece of paper, "Here," she handed the piece of paper to me, "do you know the ice cream stand of Softee near Shinjuku park?"
I nodded then she spoke again, "Give this to whoever's working there now and you'll get the job you wanted,"
"Hontou ni? Arigatou Hideki-san!" I smiled widely and bowed to her. I ran out, at last I can finally have a job.
It took me fifteen minutes to reach Shinjuku park, the stand was near it. I approached the stand and talked to the man working there, "Anou... sumimasen," I handed him the letter. He looked at me and smiled.
The guy ruffled my hair and said, "Welcome to the job then, here," he gave me an apron and a cap with the logo of Softee on it, "I'll teach you how to work here. The boss called me ten minutes ago so I've been expecting you. I'm happy cause finally I'll have someone to be here with me. I didn't even expect them to send me a cute boy," then he chuckled, "by the way, I forgot to introduce myself, my name's Yabu Kota, nice to meet you,"
"Chinen Yuri desu, hajimemashite," I bowed and smiled at him.
He started teaching me the basics. He told me to keep my smile plastered on my face every time there are costumers. There it comes my very first costumer. She's around 12 years old probably, wearing pink blouse and pink skirt. Pink clip on her hair and everything's pink.
"Strawberry on sugared cone please," she said. Even her order is pink.
I smiled at her, "Hai," then she smiled at me. I don't know but I think she blushed. I started preparing her order and yeah! The very first ice cream I sold. I gave it to her, "Dozou, arigatou gozaimasu," I bowed and smiled at her again.
She kind of uhmm... squealed I think? Then she left. I noticed Yabu-kun's looking at me with a smile, "You're doing great, keep that smile and we'll gain more costumers," then he ruffled my hair.
When it was already four in the afternoon, more costumers came since it's the time where kids usually go to the park and play. Also, it's when people from work usually go home.
I said "Douzo, arigatou gozaimasu," like a million times today. At 8pm Yabu-kun and I decided to close the stand since we're already out of stock.
"We usually close at 10 but it's different today since there's no more ice cream to sell because of you," Yabu-kun said then he poked my cheeks, "let's go home ok? We'll meet here again tomorrow at 1,"
"Hai!"
I bowed, after that I quickly ran home excited that I finally found a job thanks to Mrs. Hideki. When I arrived home, Mrs. Hideki was at the kitchen doing the dished while Mr. Hideki's probably still at work doing over-time.
"Hideki-san," I called her and approached her.
She turned around and looked at me with a smile, "How was it,"
"It's fine, I like it,"
"That's good then,"
Then I heard Aya coming down from the stairs, "Mom, is Chii home yet?"
"He's here now,"
"Sou ka," then I heard her footsteps going up again.
"I'll be resting now, thanks again," I bowed and followed Aya upstairs. When I entered my room, she's there watching TV, "Hey,"
"Where have you been?" she said without turning her head to my direction.
"Nothing, just went out to see Tokyo, and I think I'll be doing it more," I chuckled, "I like it here,"
Then she stood up and went to me, "I was so worried about you," she threw herself to me that almost made me lose my balance. Thanks to the wall we're still standing. She embraced me really tight that I couldn't even find then strength to let her go as well.
"I'm sorry," I said in a low voice and wrapped my arms around her body, feeling its warmth.
I felt her nod on my shoulder. Probably saying that it's fine or something.
"I just don't want to lose you," she said.
Me either, I don't wanna lose you Aya but please bare with me for a while. I have to do this.
