Canon Point: Mid-Dark of the Moon; Carly is being held captive and Dylan has given Sam the watch-bot, forcing him to find out Optimus' plan to strike back.
Character Appearance: Because Sam is not Sam unless he is in motion.

Familiars/Pets: Sam is being kept as a pet by the watch-bot. The seemingly nameless drone is latched onto Sam's wrist and tapped into his nervous system, making him an unwilling spy for the Tyran Soundwave.

Shockwave Modifications:
Shockwave has enabled Soundwave to read the processors and minds of those around him, like his IDW counterpart. However, he must be in close proximity, or physically contacting the other individual for this to work.
Additionally, Shockwave has "bugged" Soundwave. His conversations and actions can be fully viewed by Shockwave.
Familiars/Pets:
Soundwave possesses Rumble -- who is nonsentient, and takes the form of a blue rhino. He also has the Reedman, silly name notwithstanding, is a spy drone.
Soundwave currently shares custody of the watch bot with Sam Witwicky.
