[The camera flickers on, and suddenly Optimus. All up in your screen. The big bot is sitting on what might be a couch in his apartment, slouched over a little even though the fact that the space leaves him able to sit back comfortably without needing to hunch. He looks, as always, tired, his movements slow and muffled. He had seen better days once, but he can't remember many of them.]

[Despite it all, the glow in his optics hasn't seemed to fade a bit. Fancy that.]

This isn't about giving up all hope, it's about finding a different way to resolve an ongoing problem. I call it different, and yet so many of you before me have already tried. I trust in that.

What I would like to know is how things have been before my time in this city. I have heard stories from others who know better than me, but it leaves me curious. Has anything where we are concerned improved, by any measure?
