Sorry if I am intruding in your life...tell me if you want your privacy back ^^
Why do you have to get up so early? I thought school began at 9:00 in most countries (8:00 here :().
I love your chalkboard, and I couldn't imagine a teacher at our school being interested in something "hip" like that ;) Our English teacher just learnt what a blog is...and I doubt they know much about modern pop culture... I'm always amazed that in the US school is also a place for your hobbies... Very pretty picture of you btw! What do you teach?
No intrusion...it's fine! Our school (middle school, grades 6-8) starts at 7:20. The teachers have to be there at 7:00. I get up so early because I live about 40 minutes away from the school, plus I'm way too OCD to ever arrive late! So, I get to school around 6:00-6:15 each day. That gives me time to prepare, make copies, etc. I do a lot of after school/extracurricular activities, so I don't have after school time to do those things.
As for my students...they think my obsession with Veronica is just that and they think I'm nuts. However, they do seem to like the fact that I can talk TV, movies, games, music, sports, etc. with them. This year I've introduced many of them to music & artists they have never heard of before--mostly from the VM soundtrack and/or my "homemade" soundtracks. They love Spoon's "I Turn My Camera On"!
I teach sixth grade Social Studies, which is Ancient History actually. See, that's what I should be focusing on, but I have to occasionally throw in the pop culture! I also love the TV show Bones
( ... )
I am that kind of person, too, I hate to show up late ;)
I don't think they would see you as "nuts" - if I had a teacher interested in a TV show produced after '92 I would be thrilled! The soundtrack is indeed really good, I listen to it constantly - the scene where "I turn my camera on" is played is incredibly funny, too :)
Our Social Studies is the worst you can get, she has no pedagogical abilities at all!
