Sam Wise

I am extremely worried about my dog Sam Wise. He is now lost most of the fur on his legs, head, and sides. We take him back to the vet tomorrow. I know he is 11 years old and for a big dogs that is pretty good. I don't like seeing him suffering and worry we will have to put him down, the family would not be the same with out my seal boy.

Here's hoping it's something easily curable like a skin parasite or an allergy. You just moved to a new area, right? H's probably allergic to something there that didn't grow in your old place.

He has been having problems for almost 4 years now, this is the worst I have ever seen him. The only good thing is that he does not smell like cheese any more, the yeast infection in his ears is gone. I agree part of this is allergies, I have change his diet, put him on allergy pills, and he gets a bath twice a week and still no relief. I even started him on vitamins to help his immune system. I hope that the new vet will have a better idea of what is going on, with out breaking the bank. 10 trips to the vet last year and over $4000 later and he is still not better.
