I'm spammy, I know :) but tomorrow I'll be back at work (even though I'm still sounding like the Lady of the Camelias *coughcoughcough*) and you'll be safe from me again *g*

I've not used lights textures very much, because I can't seem to make them look right. But using the same image to create the light textures is brilliant! I will definitely be trying this on some newer icons - thanks!

And, it just goes to show, even the simple things rock. :)

actually I love lights on icons, but not if they are overused... so the more they feel 'integrated' with the original pic the better for my taste *g*

I was looking for something to make my own light textures. THank you very much for this simple tut. I have a question though. I was wondering , if I want to make something less radial and more like diagonal strokes, what kind of filter should I use? I can't seem to point it out. Thanks a lot.

heee, you're lucky I'm just checking my emails again before going to bed... *g*

Motion Blur :)

you can set the angle any way you want, so for diagonal you want it at 45°, for example :)

PS: I made quite a few tuts for light textures, in case you want to experiment some more...

I feel like I'm always using the same couple of light textures and this is an interesting new way to get new ones without ... well, getting new ones. And they'll all be customised to the picture!
