Sometimes that's all you can do for a beloved pet, let them go peacefully. It's still horribly difficult, but there's the comfort of knowing that they're at peace and not suffering. Being able to say goodbye properly helps a lot. *hugs*

Good luck with the editing etc!

(And Happy Birthday!)

Thank you! Even though the time doesn't really feel right to celebrate a birthday ._.

I miss her already, although she's still with us :'( At least she doesn't know what's going on...

Just make her last few days as happy as possible, cherish your time with her. I have photos of my Misty, taken just before. They're very precious.

Oh, I'm so sad about Steffi! All cat and dog owners have to go through this because their little lifespans are so much shorter than ours. My husband is still traumatized from when we had to put Fluffy down. But you know, I will never stop loving Fluffy, and you will never stop loving Steffi. It doesn't matter if they're not around anymore. The love is real and it goes on.

I never lost a loved one, neither human nor pet. Our guinea pigs got so old that we finally gave them to another family because we wanted a cat, and of course we didn't have such a close relationship with them either.

But that's life, I guess. You're right, the love goes on, and life goes on, too, even when someone is missing :(
