Chocolate-covered matzoh is so good. A friend of mine makes it and OMMMMNOMMMYOMMM. I could eat it all the time.

I am greatly honored by this comparison.

*hugs this fic*

I am totally cracking up over the image of Winona Kirk as a worrying Jewish mother, but it's also adorable to see Jim actually reaching out and interacting with his family for once. :) And good for him for finally calling Spock prime on his whole "ZOMG, my Jim and I had this epic love so you and this Spock must too" move (which was, IMHO anyway, exactly how the Spock prime / Kirk scenes came off in the movie). I've always thought it must be incredibly difficult for Spock prime to get whisked to this alternate reality where his Jim is still dead and then he loses Vulcan and then has to watch his younger alternte version of himself and younger alternate Jim going about their lives, and things just aren't the same and on top of that younger alternte Spock has lost his mother at such a young age... There's got to be this inredible urge to try to live his life vicariously through his younger alternate self or to try to see younger alternate Jim as his Jim. It will certainly be interesting to see how the relationship between the three of them pans out in the next movie (please dear gods, I need the next movie like air). I loved the way they interacted in TOS and if you kinda tilt your head a little, it's like Bones is the heart and Spock is the brain and Kirk is the body. There are so many places to go with this metaphor.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the epic comment! I heart these in a serious way.

This is one of the best descriptions of the differences between the relationships from TOS to Reboot that I've seen. I just ache for Spock Prime -- there is just so much that he's lost.

YES! yes yes yes! How hard would that be for a guy? That is so much heartache and then the guy loses his whole planet. Trauma: He has it.

Whew. This is greatness. The dialogue, the awesome little news bits, the canon character's depictions and the original characters are awesome. Thanks for writing this. Hope there's more soon. : )
