Oh my heart! This lovely, lovely fic! I want to hug it tight and cuddle it.

I really like the way you used the interactions between daemons to show the relationships between their humans; particularly when Dejeni and Demira start working on the robot together. Poor Tony and Howard nearly had a father-son moment before SHIELD business.

Howard was very Howard in his panic about Tony going missing and then how he dealt with it afterward. He loves him so much but can't channel much of that into expressing it in a way that Tony can see. His pep talk to Tony, while true just fuels the idea that Tony will always, in a sense, be alone. I mean, nice try Howard but yeesh.

I like the relationship you gave Jarvis and Tony. Between Jarvis and Howard, it's really to Jarvis that Tony would feel bad about worrying which was incredibly sweet.

All the nods to what we're learning and seeing in Agent Carter was also great.

Wonderful story!

Wow, that was a fast response! Thank you, you've saved me much anxiety. I've never written sad families before, I wasn't sure if was doing it right. I'm glad it worked for you!

Yeah, Howard did his best, and I'm kind of glad it wasn't that helpful, because I really had to steer it away from being a good moment between them. Hence Peggy's phone call. If I hadn't interrupted, I think they might have bonded a little and that's when I had to think of sad things. It was also really hard for me to only make Tony's school days slightly improved and not okay. It was a good exercise in stepping out of my comfort zone, overall.

I sort of have a mental image that Jarvis is freaking the fuck out and making frantic phone calls anytime he's not onscreen. I think the love is mutual, though Jarvis does his best to keep his distance for both his and Tony's sakes.

Thanks for the

I already knew that Howard was a disaster of a parent, so no surprises there, but it's not entirely his fault: events conspire, and Tony expects Howard to read between the lines a lot more than he does. He mistakes Howard's lack of omniscience for not caring, as, I find, offspring are wont to do. ("If you cared, you'd know!" "If you cared, you'd have remembered!" No, actually.)

I love Jarvis. Two Starks-he has his hands full! He's more perceptive about Tony than Howard, which is a little sad but believable.

The daemons fit their people very well.

My dad and I are definitely guilty of this both ways, though thankfully not to this extent and we get on very well and even better now that I'm older and able to understand how he communicates more than when I was little. But we're both people who live a lot in our heads, and sometimes I think we think we've made it clear what we're trying to say, but we haven't relayed all the information required. I know I've gotten annoyed because someone isn't following me and then I realized I've never actually voiced allowed what I was thinking. My mom has to play translator between us sometimes.

So, I feel like adding genius levels of intelligence on there, when everything seems so simple that you can't distinguish what is common knowledge or not any more, you'd get a lot of your brain moving so fast that you forget to relay the important stuff.

He's more perceptive ( ... )
