Still Alive, and Jane's Still Improving....

My Dear Friends,

You've a right to be put-off. It's been too long. Today, I just got a back-channel message from brightfeather wondering whether I was all right, and how Jane was, and I realized that I must post something short -- at least short for me.

I was also wondering how you two were doing. Sorry it is difficult for you to keep the rest of the world up-to-date. Keep yourself safe and well. Sounds like there are way too many people relying on you for any other option.

{{virtual hugs}} in return.

Sounds like there are way too many people relying on you for any other option.Hmmmm..... Yes, sometimes it can feel that way -- and perhaps I had some of that feeling when I dashed this off. But mostly, I think, that's not how I live it. Certainly, there are times when I must keep track of all sorts of details for Jane, especially. And I'm really not good at that kind of thing. Her meds, for example -- getting up in the morning, taking the first batch of pills, then doing her eye washes, then fixing breakfast and getting her after-breakfast pills -- all done before going off to work, and being sure I don't forget the cellphone, etc. Yeah, that was getting burdensome. Not at the beginning, b/c I was so damn glad she was alive. But in the past month, it really began to wear. So I got one of these "all the pills in a week" with 28 little boxes, and began training Jane. In other words, as I notice burnout, my PTSD-ish stuff, and I'm alert to those types of things, I grab for a "doing it this way ( ... )

Strangely, I was looking at my Flist yesterday; happened on your name and had a little wonder about Jane's progress. I'm glad to know that it's been so steady and good.

And boy, do I hear you about the writing turning from liberating to debilitating! Go you with the fanfic!

Good luck with it all, and ((((hugs)))) to you all.

I'm so glad you understand, because tucked away along with feeling that was, at least for a time, necessary for me, was the sadness of losing contacat and the worry of stranding friends who genuinely do care.

(((hugs))) & best wishes in return.

Nice to hear from you, even if it's only a quick update, but your well-being is the most important thing, so don't worry about updating if it's burning you out! We'll appreciate whatever we hear, and you should save your writing skillz for more important things, such as therapeutic fanfic :-D

Really glad to hear Jane's continuing to improve! And best of luck with your servicemen. Sounds very tough.

I shall remmeber & treasure that idea: therapeutic fanfiction!

Regarding servicemen being tough: yes, but what they went through, and what they're living is a whole lot tougher. See with them as a measuring stick, my life isn't so tough.

Thanks for your support & caring!

CONGRATULATIONS on your expected third grandchild!

Indeed, "Yay, go grandparents!" You are SO lucky to have one just around the corner. While we had an almost-weeklong visit in early January, that these are likely to happen, at most, two or three times a year, leads me to truly understand how lucky you are. Grandkids make the best "busy & worn out", b/c of the "happy, too."

And much love back to you & yours as well, dear Kate!

THanks for your care & concern. Yes, I've more to do, but I'm trying to take care of me, as well. If nothing else, it's the only way I can care for others.

And Peace to all you love.
