Hi - What an honor! to see my photo/post in Grand Master Katya's scrap book!!! Indeed i am so grateful for your outstanding work! Thank you with all my sincerity. Those of us with the same interests know how much effort and time you put in compiling and appreciate how truly remarkable. By the way, many are doing the same as me, as i often walk the streets of the old town and when i see people with camera i talk to them. The other day near ShuYinLou I ran into your friend Sasha which i know from one of your post. One morning on the way to work i detour near Xundao rd and saw a woman with a reconstituted map out of your book. She had photocopied the small map sections of each chapter and piece them together to make a full old town map with all the different interesting points and was snapping away with her phone. As she passed in front of my on bike, i was on the phone, waved to chat, said "Shanghai Old Town!, Katya's" but she sped away. Ah well! maybe she thought i was the copyright police, but my interest was simply in seeing how also ( ... )

I regret not partying! Shall we switch memories?
Jad, some of my friends have been following your instagram religiously and wondering about your identity. It's been a tremendous pleasure to read you here and there and to receive such uplifting feedback.
As to the best way to present photos - Livejournal has many shortcomings (and horrendous ads, I hear), but at least it allows to mix text and images, and the content is searchable, which is why I'm still here (although treacherously plotting a migration to WordPress and to external hosting). Most photographers have switched to instagram; I started with flickr, but that seems over; I was toying with Scalar (rather clunky) and now with Google Sites...
