It was quite an adventure today gathering ingredients for my birthday dinner. You're probably wondering why I'm shopping for my own birthday dinner, but it's not like that. My lovely wife makale_83 made me my traditional favourite birthday cake of german chocolate, got some butter pecan icecream, and bought some steaks for said feast.

Let us know how the carbomb turns out. I do not like Guinness or whisky, but this is one way that I'll drink Guinness and whisky happily.

Just kidding, that's not all I wanted to say: There's a great southeast Asian market in Falls Church where we used to go growing up. It's next door to the Panjshir there (my favorite restaurant -- and the market is next to the F.C. one, not the Vienna one). Good selection there, it's off of Rt. 7, west of Alexandria.

Haven't been there since I moved in 2001, but it was there last I saw.
