This week, I had an essay accepted into ZYZZAVA, a prominient West Coast literary journal that I have been sending stuff to for 10 years, and an essay, of all places, in The Journal of Sports Science (long story on that one).

My editor at the Univ. of South Carolina Press sent the Vollmann book back for another rewrite.  He says I am almost there

Cool on the ZZYZVA sale!

The biggest problem with most Academic writing, of course, is that the majority of journals/anthologies don't pay anything.

The exception is writing for Encyclopedias, but...

Still, hope you're enjoying the break from so much smut and screenwriting!
