Great to find this here again - thank you! :)
I love the way magic washes through these scenes; that scene with the wind whipping at Lucy's cloak was glorious. There's such great atmospherics and visuals - and also the serious consideration of very difficult questions. (and it's not over yet! If I were Pug's lawyer.... ;) )

Thanks! Pug is going to do a lot of begging in the next chapter...

With my copious free time and no more stressing over work for now, it's been a bit easier to get back into some writing. I actually had half of this completed a few months back but with my head on naval stuff and pirates (thanks to the Peridan fic), it made it a bit easier to jump back into this story.

Have been working on the next chapter too, though not in recent days. My goal is to get this story completed (without the rewrites of earlier chapters that I have in mind) and then turn back to the other unfinished fic. Let's see if I can manage that this year. :-)
