The Good Place Finale (100% public, 95% spoilery)

I was nervous about this finale for two reasons. First, I thought it might be sad. Second, in general, finales are hard to pull off. It's a show's (or book series', or movie series') last change to lay all the cards on the table and say "here's where the final point is, after everything." I'm not going to read this because we haven't seen the finale yet but it's great to read they've pulled it off. I love and will miss this show.

I was kind of expecting them to go through the door together, but in hindsight it was much better that they each got their own send-off (or not!) because in the end they're all individuals who deserve their own ending to their own story.

Yes, exactly! I was the same, expecting it to be more of a collective decision. I also think this would have made it more of a sad ending than it was, you know? This way they truly got to have their resolution, rather than one individual deciding they must all go.

But then he had that great goodbye party, AND THEN HE CAME BACK, or rather turned out to have never left at all, AND SNEAKILY HAD HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AFTER DECIDING TO GO.

Yeah, that was right. Though I also loved that when Janet said "almost like a monk," Jason still didn't really get it. But in his way, I think he did. I think Jason was always smarter than he seemed.

I really like that she had her good day with her parents and sister, and that she found something that was genuinely fulfilling for her.I also liked that her ( ... )
