PIcture Days

So I'm partway through the second week of the Parsons job, and Im still not quite sure how I feel about it. Going to bed at 8 or 9 and waking at 4 is obviously not the appealing part. Im slowly getting used to it, but yesterday was the first "ooops" day in which I set my alarm wrong and woke up literally 30 seconds before my ride arrived. Amazing ( Read more... )

Always go for a pansy float. Rhododendrens are far too gaudy, although they are trendy right now. But the pansies are classic, just like a sweater set, gelled hair and loafers.

I know whom you are talking about and it's a tough thing to deal with when you've got a level of respect for someone and yet there's this part of them that you want to slap silly. I have to say he didn't come of with the erection quote on his own though. That one was lovingly taken from Marshall. I think the weirdest part for me was coming in to this world of people I looked up to as above me and then getting to know them much more closely and then suddenly realizing that these people who've been above you your whole life are suddenly brought back down to the human level. Nobody's perfect. We all have our severe flaws ( ... )

Sally put it best about that certain photographer whose name I shall not mention..."He makes my heart all achy" For all of his prejudices and locker room humor, I have nothing but respect for the man. But I definitely have experienced the move down to the human level you speak of.

I'm enjoying everything about the job except for upper managements sad treatment of employees. I can really see why everyone complains and why marshall chose to quit. When a small business makes in one day twice the amount that I make in a year and they tell you they can't give you a small raise.....I just dont get it. I had the same problem with my last job. Why cant they realize that is why they have such a big turn over? Im still in a bind wondering if I want to come back in the spring.

Hows the new place working out?

The new job is going alright. It's kind of opposite of Parsons. I really like the upper management but a few of the lower management kind of bug me. I just don't like people that have ego's the size of King Kong. But it's going pretty good. I've only been there 3 months and I already got a raise. I'm starting to inadvertently take on the role of a lead tech because they've been hiring a bunch of new people due to the fact that they just fired a bunch of people for smoking pot on their breaks (how dumb can you be to smoke weed in an alley right across the street from the bus depot which the cops patrol by on an hourly basis.) It's really amazing how these tech places will hire people that really know nothing about networking or internet. Anyways, it's been really great though because I have enough free time to work on my school work which is nice because I'm taking a Visual Indication class which is taking a lot of time for each project mostly because I find myself doing multiple drafts to get my projects looking right.
