Some realizations and some random!

I have said all along that the Brian Kinney I have been writing in my Queer as Magic Verse, is the Brian Kinney I imagined he had the potential of becoming in the show if he had been given the opportunity to progress as a person and as a partner by the writers. And if he had been given a partner like Draco Malfoy who pushed him in ways Justin didn ( Read more... )

random, and so..., maurice, rant, boys

Do you have a beta that could help you keep Brian in line?

Yeah, I've never worked with a beta. Not sure why. I guess paranoia?? :)

Brian is much better behaved today. Chapter 15 should be up tonight. :)

Thanks!! When I actually do watch the end of 513, I really do love Brian up there dancing alone. He's so strong and certain of his feelings by the end. :)

my suggestion: Re watch the last 5 episodes of the last season!
That should help you a bit maybe.
I always liked Season 2 and 3 Bri myself...compared to season 5s.

Or even "better" see the UK ver of QaF.

Oo...good idea. I did a little watching this morning...just some key scenes through out the series and it definitely helped!

Thanks for the advice! And just out of curiosity, are you still reading this pairing??

yes I am still reading! It's just hard to read a few chapters so I waited until you had 14 up. Then I raced through them.
It's SO GOOD!

My suggestion wasn't so much for making Brian more "cannon" but for you to notice that Brian isn't static. I think part of it was the writers but the rest of it was that the character had to grow, evolve, develop. That if he doesn't grow he's a very uninteresting character/person. Seeing what the Brian character was AKA Stuart and then the Brian I think most ppl like (season 2-3) and then the Brian at the end of the series you see a character who is growing. Maybe kicking and screaming but he's definitely not staying a one note person. If he goes "OOC" he probably isn't in the long run. He's just growing into hopefully a better person! ^.^

Oh good! I was just curious because you had been such a wonderful commenter before! SO glad you're still reading. :)

You're so right that Brian isn't static. But he sure moves slow...thanks to QAF writers.

You're making me want to see Maurice again - it has been a few years... :D I saw Rupert Graves on something recently and re-ignited my crush. I'll try to think what it was called.

Brian is a fictional character so take him where you want to, even if you feel its OOC. I don't mean to belittle your dilemma but I'm quite open-minded about the whole OOC of fictional characters...

We have similar taste in men since you love Rupert, and you introduced me to Lee. :D

Stephen Moyer just got engaged to a Kiwi - Anna Paquin.

I've been watching it constantly. It's actually really nice to see Hugh Grant in a role where he isn't just being Hugh Grant, where he is actually acting a part.

And Rufus!!! *dies* We just have amazing taste that is all, you and I. :) And speaking of Lee!!! Did you know there is a movie with Lee AND Rufus!?!?! It's called The Waiting Room. I think it had a pretty limited release...but I'll see what I can do to find it.

Isn't Anna Paguin the girl who he plays opposite of in Trublood?? That is crazy. I must say, I've not been a huge fan of hers on the show. Her acting has always seemed very stiff. LIke she doesn't know what to do with her body and hands. Meh...

Thanks for your advice about the OOC thing. You're right. He's my character now. I can do what I want to him!!! Muahaha!! :)

*hugs*

I agree about Anna Paquin. She just doesn't do it for me - in any role she's been in. I'm not sure how she got an award for True Blood?

Makes no sense to me.

Here is the link to that movie trailer I was talking about...Lee doesn't show up until the end but when I saw him I was like *flail*

Have you ever noticed how beautiful Lee's hands are?? *sigh*

Oh, honey - I've been there, I am there a lot and I have no doubt that I will be singing the same blues soon too. Stay true to your vision. Characters develop and you do what you can to keep parts of them recognizable. If you've been doing your job developing him up to now, then your readers won't feel that it's such a jump. As long as the progression is logical, that's the important thing.

Cheers and hugs! :)

Thank you!!! That really makes me feel so much better. And you're totally right...this isn't the same situation as on the show and things (including Brian) will change.

Thank you!

*hugs*
