The United States, in its capital, has many, many memorials. Some, like the Vietnam memorial, were controversial at the time but have since grown to be iconic.

What I was unaware of was that there is a small World War one memorial.

I am pretty sure I was at the WWI one when I was there, but I would have to look at pictures to make sure. But I really feel like I remember being there and a few of my teachers complaining how small it was.

I would definately support spending money on having this done as well.

I think that we all have to search our memory for where and how it is may be an indication it's time :).

I've been to the national mall a few times, and I never knew there was a WWI memorial. I'd definitely be in favor of spending the money to build one. It's way past due!

When I was in France, it seemed like every single city had a little city square with a war memorial, some with sculptures that looked like WW1 clothing and some WW2.

I don't know if I've ever been to a war memorial here in America. Though there are some cemeteries around that have a section set aside for that.

I guess WW2 was just far more black and white for a lot of people. Most don't even know what WW1 was about, but everyone knows about Nazi's and concentration camps. I definitely think it's worthwhile to set aside a well kept memorial for WW1.

If Europe is anything like the United States in how we treat Pearl Harbor and Civil War battlefields, I would imagine that there are memorials everywhere.

Some towns have small memorials for their locals soldiers that died in wars. I've seen them for the civil war down through Viet Nam. Eternal flames are popular. They are all over America, I would think. It is strange to think the national WW1 memorial would be almost forgotten like that.
