Thanks for your review of the Other Queen. I'm in need of a new book and was thinking about buying it the other day, but decided against it. Hardback books are too expensive and she's been so hit or miss with me. I loved the Other Boleyn Girl, liked the Boleyn Inheritance a lot, could not stand the Queen's Fool, and am still trying to get through the Constant Princess and Wildacre.
I wish you were fishing, too. How was it yesterday? Did you go?
I have The Queen's Fool, but I haven't read it. I really really really liked The Constant Princess, it gave me a real feel for Catherine of Aragon. I'm sorry you aren't enjoying it.
It stayed too cold to go fishing yesterday. Even bundled in layers and dry, it was cold. We just didn't want to add wet on top of that. We are headed out today, though. It's supposed to be in the low 70's instead of 55.
I'm not not enjoying the Constant Princess. It's just I can put it down...does that make sense? I couldn't put down some of her other stuff, so I read it right away. But with this, I just find myself setting it down and setting it down, so even though I like it, I'm not so hooked.
Speaking of hooked, have fun today! Low 70s should be nice, right? Even on the water?
I know just what you mean with your reading. I get like that with some books. They'll take months to finish because I'm just not riveted.
Thanks! Yes! It should be fine on the water today. It's a tad cold out there now and it was too cold to hit the early tide, so we are waiting out the low before heading out later.
December 30? Well, the good side is, it's in time for a New Year's gift (we are celebrating late this year on the second weekend of Jan). It'll be perfect for my friend Terry who is the one who loaned Season 1 to me, before I bought my own.
She's the one I went to London with too. We're both freaks for anything England.
According to today's note in my Stitch N Bitch calendar, Mary, Queen of Scots, is said to have been executed in her knit stockings. That's all I have to say.
Also, although she approached the block in a black gown(Protestant garb), she was executed in a deep red chemise which was revealed when she was disrobed.
The red chemise represented the liturgical color of martyrdom in the Catholic Church.

You did, and I finally ordered it from Amazon, because my local bookstore sucks. It's in my pile to read. =D

Looks like they delayed the release to be just-not-in-time for Christmas!
