Girls Aloud are awesome! I'm glad to see someone besides me (and some various Brit friends of mine) that actually knows who they are! In general, I'm so thankful for British pop music over the past decade. Especially in the last couple years, where America now has ZERO true pop acts. The boy groups are gone, folks like Justin Timberlake do R&B, and I can't even remember the last time America had a female pop group.
And no, we can't count Eden's Crush, I'm sorry -_-; If anything, the failure of the American "Pop Stars" show has a lot to do with the direction we went in this country. It killed the American labels' interest in releasing British-style pop groups over here. Season one did the all-female group, and season two had an even-less-successful mixed-gender group. And then with how huge American Idol has been... the American pop market, or what semblance of it remains, has gone in that direction.
Ah, yay for Girls Aloud. I can't believe I didn't like them that much when I checked them out the first time. So awesome and catchy. <3
Yeah, I think closest we have to pop is Rihanna, who's really just on the poppier side. Oh and the Disney acts. I should try to get into them more -- Vanessa Hudgens' album was surprisingly good. But I think the time where there was clear lines between pop/R&B/rock has passed. For now at least. I don't mind the mixture though. I found that I liked a lot more music in the US last year than I have in a LONG time.

Is St Trinian's coming out in the US? Girls Aloud is *in* that movie.
Who is the hawaiian girl from attention please? I can't find any info on her at all. :/

Oh, it's Harada Natsuki. She's the person from the special who put on odd-looking tanning make-up to look hawaiian. >.>;;
