One down, 24 more to go! I'm not going in any particular order. I'm planning on reading the ones I actually have here at home first before venturing out on other stuff.
Really? Emma is one of my favorites, too! I have a hard time choosing between Emma and Pride and Prejudice, but Emma probably wins!
Yeah, I think that Fanny really lacked in the confidence area, but she definitely stood up for what she believed in better than Edmund or any of the others.
Have fun reading! :) Your list looks great- and I'm looking forwards to your thoughts on many of the books.
It's been a while since I read Mansfield Park, but I did like Fanny rather much, especially since we are the same personality type, so I can kind of sympathize with any un-confidence/shy/quiet/not standing up for yourself moments.
I definitely will! Most of these are ones I've wanted to read for awhile but just haven't quite gotten the chance.
I'm more like a combination of Emma and Marianne; so I find it a bit hard to sympathize with Fanny. I did like her the best, but I felt that she could have been maybe a bit more confident. I thought that she deserved a better man than Edmund though. Perhaps, he improved under her guidance.
I totally understand about naturally gravitating towards the characters that one is more like- I do that *all* the time, although I have begun to like characters that are vastly different than I, thankfully.
