You guys: how important is it that I watch "Planet of the Dead" before watching "The End of Time" parts 1and 2? I accidentally watched "The Waters of Mars" bc I thought it was next, but then the Doctor started spouting off about "knock four times" and I was all "what? Planet of the Dead isn't REALLY necessary to watch.. The "knock four times" line came at the very end, I think. Here's a clip, if you want to see:

ALSO, there are specials that are on youtube--every year, Doctor Who does a fundraiser thing for helping the children? Or something? And they usually do shorts for Doctor Who that take place between seasons. Have you seen those? I'll go find them on youtube if you haven't.

Okay, Children in Need specials!

This was between seasons 1 and 2: 2006 (This was actually before the first Tenth Doctor christmas episode, when Rose is reacting to the way the Ninth Doctor changed to the Tenth.)

And this was after season 3, I believe, when Martha left: 2007

Hmmm...I thought there were more, but some of them are trailers or a tour of the Tardis. And this year's is Eleven talking about his clothes, LOL. I don't know if you've started watching Eleven yet (you seem to be right about to him) but this is not spoilery and really fun. 2011

I totally did everything in the wrong order. I fell in love with the show under Eleven in season 5, so then I went back and started from the beginning. I've been chugging through the whole series on Netflix, and I just finished the last of it today. Now hubby and I are going (slooooowly) through season 6.

I've heard you never forget your first Doctor, but as much as I love Eleven, Ten has become my new favorite.

The "knock four times" prophecy came at the end of an episode, didn't it? On the Ood planet?

Planet of the Dead was probably my favorite of the Tenth Doctor specials series, mostly for the fun of Michelle Ryan's character, but as I recall it stands pretty well on its own. I'd just catch it when you can. ;-)
