The baby and the elephant

Today is officially my last day of OISE. My B.Ed is finished, in two weeks there'll be a graduation ceremony which I'm not going to 'cause I hate those things, and by the end of June I should have my teaching qualification. YAY! Won't feel like I've finished until I get that ( Read more... )

I think the elephant is great. I actually like that the name is twisting.

Twisting is certainly better than a straight line followed by a sinking letter! It grew on me :)

The elephant is brilliant! And so is getting to the graduation stage of anything... :)
So congrats on 2 counts...

Nah, babies are used to big scary things being pushed into their faces - like the faces of all their adult relatives!

Good point! Everything's big and new for a baby isn't it. And babies are pretty unjudgemental aren't they? ;)

Congrats on finishing your program!

I think your elephant is beautiful. Any baby would be lucky to have it. And don't worry... by the time the baby's actually able to use her arms to hold onto it, the elephant will no longer seem so huge. Babies do grow quickly!

By the way, your niece is one day older than my new baby. :)

Thanks! I didn't really spread the news much on LJ, so I wouldn't have expected you to know. My baby was born on May 12 -- her name is Gianna.

Tamsyn is absolutely adorable! She's got a very cute nose. Congrats to your parents on their first grandkid, and to you on your first niece! Hope you get to see her soon....

Aw Gianna, that's so lovely. I haven't come across it before - does it have special meaning for you? Is she your first child?

I won't be able to meet Tamsyn until we go back for our wedding, next year in December. She'll be nearly two by then!

Oh Shanni it's gorgeous! It's so much better than some of the presents Tamsyn has received too, and handmade things are always best.

Well done for finishing your course! I'm crossing my fingers that you'll find a position very soon.

*big hugs* Fer

I'm glad you think so :) We posted it yesterday. Couldn't afford a card sorry. It's a bit squished into the box and I'm worried the pressure on the seams will make them burst - I'd hate for you to have to repair it! That'd be a lousy gift! But the bigger box was way too expensive.

I'm sure it'll be fine. No card is fine too, you should see the lounge room at the moment - almost every surface has a card on it! She's a popular little girl. :o)

I'll bet! ;) I can't believe I won't get to see her until December 2010!

Shanny, it's a wonderful elephant! Don't sell yourself short! (and the name looks really good like that!) I'm so proud of you for finishing your course. You're a double Bachelor like Renee now!
