Lauren's gown continued...
The front beading is finished to my liking, I'll need for her to try it on to make sure that I like it. The back was somewhat problematic.
I needed to break it into the bodice and the skirt, makes sense right? But how to connect it all together so the bodice bottom "floats" over the skirt back w/o looking like it is sewn down and not stitching ( Read more... ) -
For my next wedding gown
My next wedding gown will be a column gown made of silk charmuse lined in silk taffeta and with an inner lining of silk taffeta. The under corset is made of coital with spiral boning.
I began with draping the gown using simple cotton muslin.

Gown is almost finished - just needs the hem on the beige layer. There will likely only be about 2-3" of that showing after we hem it. I'd like to find a silk ribbon to use down the front right now there is a white grosgrain which is OK but silk would look much richer. I like the regular corset lasing up the back - you thoughts? Lo's Wedding Gown
The second gown I get to work on is for Lauren aka Lo, or LiLo, or whatever version I choose to use. Anyway... Lo is a very petite woman, so finding something for her "off the rack" was going to be tricky which is why she asked me to make her gown. Starting some new projects
