i too do not like billy joel.... there are 1 or 2 songs that i can handle, but on a whole i feel that he does not live up to his reputation. now, you have a cousin who has a man who LOVES billy joel, and he also knows of my distaste.... please, oh please, next time you see him bring this up!!!! it will be much fun, i assure you!!!!

I love that Hal hates Billy Joel, but will listen to John Denver all freakin day! Yay, lyrically speaking "It'll hold eight kids, four hound dogs, and a piggy we stole from the shed!" is so much better!

give me john denver over billy joel anyday!!!! a big factor of coolness for mr. denver is that he was a guest star on The Muppet Show. i don't recollect mr. joel on there.....

I'm absolutely NOT dissing on John...I happen to love that music as much as any.

My point was, actually, that just because you happen to be fond of something (ie, John Denver) doesn't mean that your taste in music is superior, or, the other way around, that you tend to choose things that are lyrically superior.

Music is completely subjective. You can't say one is better than the other, you can only give your opinion. Which I know the two of you will do, copiously, no matter what I say....
