I SURVIVED!!!

The Monthly Family Dinner was at my house yesterday, and went surprisingly well. Yes, this was the reason for "Auntie's Epic Cleaning of the House" last week. And in a way, my sisters got to see a whole new side of me, which was hysterically funny to my mother (and to me)because she knew it all along.

Aw! Huge sigh of relief for you (even though I somehow missed that you were preparing for this event)!

So glad it went so well! Yeah for fun family times!

Hope your dad feels better soon, and that you get lots of quality time with your mom!

*laughs* Yes, that was one reason why! That and it just needed to be done. I've been sick off and on with pneumonia for the last two years, and stuff just piles up, you know?

It was a relief that things went so well.

Only awkward moment was when Practical Sister opened the microwave and said, "Auntie! You need to clean your microwave!!"

I shrugged and said, "Oh, well, I had to leave something for you to criticize."

She huffed, "I do not criticize!"

And everyone turned to her and said in unison, "Yes, you do."

It was GREAT!!

That sounds like a lot of fun! Growing up, there were hardly any other family members, so when I hear of big family get-togethers, I think that must rock. I'm glad all the work getting the kids to help cleaning the house paid off! :D

I enjoyed the fact my mom had such a big family when I was growing up, though I could have lived without the sloppy, drooley kisses from the old aunties in the family (yecch!!). And it was nice to have everyone here, even though I was so nervous at first when they got here that I still had to compulsively clean until I settled down (even though there was nothing left to clean!!).
