I missed the great opening Gala infront of Vienna's City hall Sept 1st as we had a rehearsal for the mass that we performed last Sunday, as we do every year since Haydn's employer started this tradition 200 years ago. This year's Classic Music Festival is over. I'm exhausted 7 concerts in ten days plus rehearsals and parties. But I had a wonderful time, lots of fun and I met many new friends. Some have a LJ too and I hope to hear from them soon. Met a cute guy in Bratislava the night we performed Beethoven there. But haven't had time yet to meet for dinner or so ( Read more... )

It was a dignified end of the season that is now past. Sunday was the Bartoli recital at the Musikverein. She was again fantastic. I was, as many others, disappointed that she sang just 2 Salieri and 2 Mozart arias. The evening started with a "study for 23 solo-strings" by R. Just heard on the News that a new biography about Alma Mahler will soon be released, the auther is Oliver Hilmes. I knew she was a big antisemit but I didn't know how big.
