I went into the episode expecting Cas to be purposely fucking around with Sam's soul for the war machine and for Dean to dump him for it. Exactly! And instead I got Cas explaining to me how he couldn't walk away even though he is so very conflicted and lost, and I got Dean putting everything on the line for Cas until the very end. I love it when Show surprises me like this. I'm the kind of shipper where I am not interested in whether they're happy or not, I just want them agitating/distracting the shit out of each other. Me too! I just want them to show each that they care even if they're beating the hell of each other, but then I cop out because I want them to be happy in the end.
is he separate from it anymoreThe more I think about this and the episode, I'm starting to think no. No matter how hard Cas insists that he's an angel and certainly he is getting more powerful each episode, his humanity won't let him go. I forgot to mention this in the post but I loved Crowley's little talk about '

Definitely, the story arc hs definitely not gone where I expected it to and it's been brilliant, though of course I really had no idea where this story arc was going to go in the first place. The writers seem to know what they're doing so I guess I'll have to put my neurotic worrying behind and trust the characters will be alright.
MAYBE YOU SHOULD PROMPT SOME SHMOOP ON THE CASFEST TWO WEEKS MEME
