Meghan had her 8 weeks well-baby visit this morning. In a nutshell, she is doing just fine and is on track as far as growth and development go. She weighs 10lbs 8.4 oz (was 7.15 at last month's visit!), and her height is 1' 10.25". I saw a different doctor today than last week (it's a group) and he was very pleased with her progress. I told him ( Read more... )

Do you use the powdered form of the Enfamil AR? I recently switched Kenna to that instead of the Similac soy, and I'm having a really hard time getting the powder to dissolve? I've tried boiling water, warm water, cold water, putting the powder in first, putting the water in first, stirring, shaking... I'm thinking of just getting the liquid kind. But since she's been on the AR and the baby Zantac, she's doing so much better! They told me to try taking her off the Zantac for a week, just to see, and her hiccups are back with a vengence! After her weight check on Wed, I think I'll put her back on it.

Way to go, Momma! :-)

I use the powdered kind. I just shake the holy crap out of it and let it sit for 5 minutes before I give it to her. I make her bottles up in advance and keep them in the fridge, so it saves me a lot of time that way.

She didn't do well on liquid formula. It seemed to upset her stomach.

Hint on the powdered kind - shake after EVERY SCOOP. It's a pain in the ass, but it works. Similac, I find, is harder to dissolve than Enfamil.

And if you live near Pittsburgh and want my can of A.R. I'll give it to you! (Sadly, somehow the A.R. makes Ellie spit up more???? We're using Gentlease but I bought 2 cans of A.R. and have one unopened in my cupboard.)

Dang...I USED to live outside of Philly until June...Norristown.

Good luck, I liked it there ok, but the people in the area can't drive for the most part and houses are too expensive.

But if you ever are in Pittsburgh, let me know!
