Theodore smiled softly, folding the parchment neatly. The clues may have been subtle, but Theo was sure he knew where his father was this time, and it pleased him to hear from him after so long.

He drew out his quill and bit of parchment, coaxing the owl to wait patiently by bribing it with a piece of toast while he penned a reply.

Father,

It pleases me so much to hear from you again, and I hope you are well beyond the annoyance of being kept from home. It pains me to think of you cramped as you are, and unable to return home, but I am sure it will not be for much longer.

You need only name the time and I will come find you. I've grown particular skilled at sneaking away from school, a talent I hope you'll not fault me for, as it allows me to be near to you.
