Sturgis listened to the words with a careful ear, though his eyes were constantly drifting to the figure hanging above them. He grinned widely, pleased at his work. A short visit from a 'fellow teacher' and a short conversation was all it had taken the gain enough of Burbage's trust to secure her and sneak her off the school grounds.

He fingered his wand, imagining the lovely image she would make flayed alive, or the patterns her dripping blood might make upon the table...

However, at the mention of Bellatrix's deed, he looked over to the madwoman and nodded his appreciation of her task. Though he was pleased Moody was dead, inside, he was slightly angry that the one to kill the Auror had not been him.

He continued to listen and watch his fellows carefully, watching to see what the night would bring.

At first Bellatrix was unable to tell which entity was more beautiful and exhilarating to watch -- her Lord, Master and Savior or the heretic Burbage bound and utterly helpless. The image so reminded Bellatrix of her childhood hunting defenseless animals on her parents' estate that it warmed her blood. She had the very strong urge to play with the teacher in ways very similar to those she employed on the late Moody. The thought brought a curved smirk to her darkly painted lips ( ... )

Lucius only just barely suppressed his urge to snort derisively at Bellatrix's rhetoric. But, admirably, he kept it in check. After all, it wouldn't do to show anything but respect towards the Dark Lord's favorite. Especially when she had disposed of the Auror no one believed could be killed.

He shifted his gaze upwards to the noisily revolving figure of Charity Burbage. He knew what was coming, knew that there would be an unnecessarily gory display of brutality to satisfy the ever-growing bloodlust of the Dark Lord's followers. Strange, he thought. I speak as though I were no longer one of them. That won't do, not at all. Especially here.

Ignoring Bellatrix, he turned his gaze towards the Dark Lord, carefully gathering his thoughts and emotions. "Indeed, my Lord, we are all pleased by the news of your latest accomplishments. With the Minister and the head of the Auror department both dead, the opposition may very well not recover at all." He smiled. "And what crippling blow are we to strike next?"

Rabastan took the time to examine every other Death Eater is attendance this evening. He recognized Lucius by his build and clean robes and noted how Bellatrix looked to be more stable these days. Better posture with her head held much higher than he normally observed.

Still in his mind, Rabastan toiled over Scrimgeour and the surrounding circumstances. He hoped that tonight would provide some sort of closure.

Gripping the table with his hands, Fenrir's breathing was rapid and guttural. He had been very impatient since his move to Cheshire and wasn't enjoying himself there. He wanted to be back in the moors where there was proper disguise, a good hideout, and the most important, a readily available food source. Greyback was growing tired of muggle children; they weren't as delectable.

However, Something in the air caused Greyback some relief. There was a comfort knowing that he had others around him that were versed in fighting; could actually cast hexes and defend the group. Had there been another run in with those pesky Aurors, it'd be far easier than last time.
