6 IRELAND AND THE GREAT WAR Keith Jeffery (Northern Ireland, 2014)
A comprehensive history of Ireland and WWI, from the diversity of Irish men who volunteered, to the current commemoration.
I moved to Ireland just over a year ago, and have no more than a basic understanding of Irish history, but I thought this was a very accessible book.
The Easter Rising still greatly overshadows Ireland's experience in the trenches, and this is why Jeffery's book is such an important book.
