This is a collection of essays dealing with Ireland's relationship with the 1916 Rising and WWI.
I read this book for my research on Ireland's relationship's with the Great War, and found it very insightful.
For a significant portion of its history, Ireland has let the Easter Rising completely overshadow the Great War, as if it was only a protestant war. The truth is that more Irish Catholics were involved in the trenches than Irish Protestants, and the country is finally starting to acknowledge this page of history, along with the Easter Risng.
