I love this fic so much. It's got a lot of nuance. The best part of the whole thing, in my opinion? Cuddy had just enough presence of mind to notice the date showing on the calendar at the corner of the desk: October 16, 1987. That kind of hit me right in the heart. House didn't just want to re-live...he kind of wanted to re-start.

I love how you managed both his sentimental side, and the snark and appearance of selfishness that's very House.

Dingdingdingding! I'm so glad to hear that came across. The endearingly clumsy conversation in Known Unknowns told me how important it was to House that Cuddy saw that night as significant, and that she needed know how meaningful it was to him, even all these years later. I think he really needed that to be acknowledged to be able to launch something new with her.
